Reproduction C2 Midyear Corvette Trim Tag  

 

1963-1967 Corvette Midyear Trim Tag, sometimes called the Cowl tag is an aluminum body identification plate that is riveted to the crossbar under the dash right next to the Vin Number tag. The Trim Tag has several numbers and alphabetical letters embossed into it, body style, either 437 or 467 for coupe and convertible, Color Code of Paint, style/color of interior, as well as the month and day vehicle was produced, and finally the body identification number which also shows whether body was made at Saint Louis or A.O. Smith plant.

The Original midyear Corvette Trim Tag is a very Important part of the Judging Process for all automotive show events.

 

Many Cars had these Trim Tags changed in the 70's and 80's when the car underwent color changes at local body shops and the body shop would recommend changing the tag. Later the judging community deciding the very importance of the circa correct original tag. They were changed so frequently that it is estimated that in 1967 alone there are estimated to be 3500-4000 Corvettes out of the almost 23000 cars that have low grade reproduction tags.

 

These Trim tags are the best in the world, they are the correct tensile strength aluminum, speculated - mirror rear finish /mill finish front /grain up and down, correct length and height to the thousands of an inch, correct exact fonts, perfect background including factory "flaws", stamped number fonts are absolutely correct to original ...  supplied with correct rivets......these are the best midyear Corvette trim tags on the planet.... period.
