1969-72 Camaro, Chevelle, Impala Trim Tag sometimes called a cowl tag is an aluminum body identification plate that is riveted on the driver's side engine firewall area .The trim tag has several numbers embossed into it including type of body style, coupe or convertible , vinyl roof  or not , as well it shows whether car was a 6 or 8 cylinder motor. It will show what month and week the car was built, color of car, body sequence number on the assembly line.

For Camaro's depending on plant, it may show "X" and "Z" codes...referring to style trim options...ie big block, Z28, Z11 convert pace cars, Z10 coupe pace cars among others. Well-equipped style trim and certain options like rally sport or "X" codes depicting small blocks or big block engines.

Heavy emphases are put on original trim tags, especially 1969 Camaro, as an example Z28X33...these tags are highly scrutinized in determining original vehicle pedigree in judging.
